Site 1. Ashbourne – visit properties to view various broad-leaf weed control trials using non-synthetic chemicals (plant based) – artichoke thistle, scotch and spear thistle plus control trials on three corner garlic, Scabiousa and more.
Site 2. McLaren Vale – Angove Winery (McLaren Vale) – hear from vineyard manager Nick Bakkum on mid row weed management and experiences converting the vineyard to organic certification, the multiple benefits including increased resilience to drought and improved wine quality and marketability.

Site 3. Hope Forest – Bishop dairy – view a small trial site of broad leafed weed control treating thistles, cleavers, dock, Picris and other common paddock weeds using alternatives to synthetic sprays.
Site 4. Mt Jagged Winery – small trial of vineyard mid row treatments using organic certified treatments including pre-emergent options plus gorse and Cape ivy control.
Stay for afternoon tea – head off from there
