On-ground works

The On-ground works program assists landholders to undertake significant land management change upon predominantly agricultural properties in dryland farming areas.

Works undertaken by landholders include protection and enhancement of remnant vegetation, revegetation using local native plant species to enhance regional biodiversity, improve agricultural sustainability and productivity, and to manage dryland salinity.

Activities such as excluding stock from rivers and streams to protect riparian and aquatic habitats and improve water quality, and improving agricultural production techniques to minimise the impacts of agriculture upon the wider environment and improve agricultural sustainability and production are also undertaken by landholders.

The Goolwa to Wellington LAP currently run two separate on-ground works programs:

  • One program is focused on the Eastern Mount Lofty Ranges and Plains region within the GWLAP boundary. For more information please download our latest incentives schedule, and an expression of interest form to register your interest in joining the on ground works program. Please contact Ben Simon for further information.
  • The other program is specifically for landholders in the Lower Lakes and Coorong region across both the Goolwa to Wellington LAP and the Coorong District Council LAP boundaries. For further information please download our latest incentive schedule or an expression of interest form. Please contact Belinda Gunn for further information.
