The GWLAP area is located in South Australia and sits in the South Western Corner of the Murray Darling Basin. Strathalbyn, which sits in the centre of the GWLAP area, is situated approximately 50 km South East of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. The GWLAP area extends to Harrogate in the North, across to Callington, Kanmantoo, and Wellington in the East, and to Lakes Alexandrina and Albert including the islands of Hindmarsh and Mundoo and the coastal township of Goolwa in the South. The Western boundary of the GWLAP area follows the spine of the Mount Lofty Ranges with Mount Compass, Meadows, Mount Barker, and Nairne all located within the GWLAP area.
